It's that time of year again, where we spring forward into Daylight Saving Time. This means, one more hour of daylight before
enjoying those remarkable Santa Barbarian sunsets we're known for!
Daylight Saving begins at 2:00 AM Sunday, and if your phone is set to the default "Automatic" setting, you will see your
phone jump from 1:59 AM to 3:00 AM without needing any manual alteration.
A form of Daylight Saving was first proposed in 1784 by Benjamin Franklin, with New Zealander George Hudson proposing the official idea
in 1895. The first official Daylight Saving was exercised by the German Empire and Austria-Hungary on April 30, 1916. Since then,
78 other countries have joined in on the extra hour of light, including the United States in 1918. Since then, there have been various reforms
bills passed addressing Daylight Saving Time. In fact, Arizona and Hawaii do not partake in the bi-annual tradition.
Whatever your opinion on the matter, we hope you enjoy the extra hour of sunshine tomorrow!
