Update by the Dedicated staff of edhat.com at 4:13 p.m. March 9, 2017

At 1:35 p.m. Santa Barbara County Fire Department engine companies responded to a call at the intersection of Highway 135 and Clark Ave. in Orcutt, that led to the airlifting of an elderly man to Cottage Hospital.

When units arrived, they found that an old, 1950's two door Cadillac had collided into a concrete pole at a stop light in a single vehicle accident. The single male driver was complaining of major injuries, and was transported to Santa Maria airport by Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit Copter 4. From there, he was transported by AMR to air units that then took him to Cottage Hospital where he will be treated for his injuries.

The cause of this accident is unknown, California Highway Patrol and the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department are on the scene.
