Trader Joe's Applesauce Recall

Trader Joe's voluntarily recalls their Unsweetened Applesauce due to "foreign matter" being found in the product, according to their recent announcement

Three products are recalled due to potential glass pieces found inside the product:

  • Trader Joe's First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein Apple Sauce (Barcode #00015905)all codes through BEST BEFORE AUG. 08, 2018 
  • Trader Joe's Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce (Barcode #:00194877)  all codes through BEST BEFORE OCT 6, 2018 
  • Trader Joe's All Natural Unsweetened Apple Sauce (Barcode #00014359): all codes through BEST BEFORE DEC.16, 2018

Potentially affected products have been removed from the shelves. Trader Joe's urges customers to discard the item or return it for a full refund. They can be contacted at their help line: Trader Joe’s Customer Relations at (626) 599-3817 [Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Pacific Time]

Love and live by traders food but they sure do have a lot of recalls for very scary things.

If you're concerned look at recall news daily. You'd be amazed. https://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/

There was one a few weeks back I expected to be covered locally. Safeway owns Vons. Here's a sample:

And Sargento cheese recall. Almost all are recalls by producer out of an abundance of caution after one bad sample or bad test on a production line is found.
