Details of News Release :

On 01/08/13 at 9:45 PM, San Luis Ambulance and Cal Fire personnel responded to a medical aid call at 2382 Left Lane in rural Arroyo Grande. The suspect, Thomas Kadota, had called requesting medical aid for his elderly mother. While ambulance and fire personnel were in the process of treating the patient, Kadota became agitated and stabbed a San Luis Ambulance Emergency Medical Technician in the back. Deputies responded to the residence and were able to evacuate the medical personnel and the patient from the location. Kadota remained inside the residence and was uncooperative with investigating deputies, refusing to come out of the house. A perimeter was established and after 5 1/2 hours of negotiation, Kadota was taken into custody without incident.
