U.S. HIGHWAY 101 MEDIAN BARRIER PROJECT RESUMES NEXT WEEK
NIPOMO/ARROYO GRANDE - A project to construct a median barrier along a five-mile section of U.S.
Highway 101 from Los Berros Road to Fair Oaks Avenue will resume on Sunday night Dec. 16 from 7 pm
to 6 am with work on the bridge rails at Bridge Street, Arroyo Grande Creek and the Hwy. 101
Interchange at Brisco Road.
There will be a full closure of the Hwy. 101 southbound on-ramp at Grand Avenue for three weeks
beginning Sunday December 16 until Sunday, January 6. This closure will occur during the winter break
for Arroyo Grande High School. Motorists may detour by using the southbound Hwy. 101 on-ramps at
Halcyon Road or Traffic Way.
Motorists can expect minor delays during the overnight work. The contractor for this $2.8 million
project is Calportland Construction of Santa Maria CA. This project is expected to be completed by next
spring.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction
zones.
