San Luis Obispo Police responded to Santa Rosa Park and upon arrival officers located a male subject who had been shot in the back with what appeared to be a small caliber bullet. The victim was transported to Sierra Vista Hospital for treatment. Doctors were unable to remove the bullet, due to the fact it was lodged between two vertebras and close to the spinal cord. "We are fortunate these crimes do not occur in SLO as often as in other communities. When they do, we want to send a loud message that we will do whatever it takes to find those responsible and hold them accountable. I think we've sent that message with these arrests and weeks of diligent police work." - Stephen Gesell, San Luis Obispo Chief of Police

Currently the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department at (805)781-7317 or Crime Stopper at (805)549- STOP.
