Armed Robberies Sentence

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that
Jesus Quevado, age 31, was found guilty in a Santa Maria jury trial on Tuesday,
November 27, 2012, of a series of armed robberies and burglaries that took place in the
Fall of 2010 in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. The jury also found that all
of the crimes were committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang. Following
yesterday's verdict the Honorable Judge Edward Bullard found true that Jesus Quevado
had two previous convictions for robbery and assault with a firearm, both occurring in
2005.
The crimes were solved through the joint efforts of the Santa Maria Police
Department, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office and the San Luis Obispo County
Sheriff's Office. Based upon his convictions at trial and his prior criminal history, Jesus
Quevado faces a possible sentence of life in prison. His sentencing is set for January 31,
2013.
